I Love Idioms is a picture book series that asks: what if the things we say every day were actually true? Each story takes a familiar phrase and turns it into a small, literal adventure.

I wrote them for children just beginning to untangle language, and for adults who remember how fantastical idioms sounded before we learned what they were supposed to mean. Pfft.

In Book Two, Kali is ready to speak on stage until he opens his mouth and croaks. There’s a frog in his throat. A real one. His classmates try to help, but the frog has other plans.

It's a story about nerves, noise, and the kindness of kids who don’t give up on you.
